Palm Galleria Shopping Mall
Palm Galleria is a 70,000 m2, state-of-the-art mall development in East Cairo. Hassan Allam Construction building this vast development on behalf of PHD.
The project has been created as an all-encompassing Life Style Centre.
Challenge
Vast spaces often incur the need for a high quantity of luminaires, which in turn can create a mundane ceiling rhythm when spaced. On this occasion we use the repetition of the luminaires to create visual interest.
Solution
The luminaires are spaced toward the perimeter of each of the walkways whilst an additional luminaire is placed toward the centre of the corridor, however in line with the linear perimeter luminaire. This creates an unusual layout as viewed along the corridor. Further visual interest is created when viewed from within the atrium at ground floor level. The layout of the luminaires within the mall corridors above, accentuate the architectural form creating an even stronger line creating visual interest.
